Memory Landscapes
This series of encaustic and mix media paintings explore the changing nature of memory. These paintings use photography as a starting and then consecutive pieces are created from the memory of the prior one.
In this process, the works become sequentially abstracted with each version mirroring the changing nature of memories. Also in this process, recognizable location markers fade away in order to create an image that the viewer can find a sense of familiarity to.
